Asbestos

For many years Asbestos was commonly used in an array of building and construction materials throughout the world.  Australia was one of the leading mining countries, which meant that the product was cheap and readily available.  Asbestos was used in numerous building products right up to the early 1990s meaning that a significant number of buildings still feature Asbestos based building products.

On the Gold Coast, Asbestos in houses and building is extremely common which numerous cement sheeting products being readily visible with just a simple drive down the street.  It is now well known that Asbestos can contribute to the affects of Cancer meaning that extreme care should be taken when dealing with the Asbestos based products.
